Hallo Forum und Besitzer des
Atlas of Meteorites,
In
Elements, December 2015, pp. 452-453, ist eine
Book Review zu Monica Grady's
Atlas of Meteorites, geschrieben von Chris Herd (
!). Mit einigen seiner Äusserungen gehe ich persönlich aber nicht konform - so zum Beispiel:
- a beautifully illustrated volume
- the authors have done an
admirable job of compiling virtually all the relevant information required to classify meteorites
- the historical background included in this chapter (= introductory chapter) will be an
education both for novices and
for experienced meteoriticists alike
- the organization of the other chapters
intuitively progresses from the most primitive meteorite classes ... to meteorites ...
- ... what sets this book apart are the full-color plates ...
- The
Atlas of Meteorites is
an essential reference for any petrologist ... and thoroughly deserves its place next to
An Atlas of Rock-Forming Minerals in Thin Section on the bookshelf closest to the petrographic microscope.
Was meint ihr, wie seht ihr das?
