Dies ist allerdings nicht vielversprechend; Hokitika ( 42°43'23.51"S, 170°58'11.19"E ):
I'm in Hokitika (Kowhitirangi), my son and I saw a massive meteor around 6.30pm, looked to be just over Hokitika heading out to sea. Have never seen anything that big or low before, big fire ball with a short firey tail and sparks coming off the back every now and then.

Owen Pearson from Christchurch caught it on film using his dash cam as he was driving north into Springs Junction.
