Meteorites - unlocking the secrets of the solar system

Vortrag von Philip Bland  (25.5.2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTuNgoi0eDk

Zitat
Professor Phillip Bland talks about his passion for meteorites, and what they can tell us about the solar system and our planet's past. This fascination has led him to meteorite 'hot spots' across the Earth -- from the extreme cold of Antarctica for collecting expeditions, to the dry desert heat of Australia's Nullarbor Plain to set up the Desert Fireball Network, a series of cameras capturing the descent of meteorites as they enter Earth's atmosphere and land. In 2006 Professor Bland had an asteroid named in his honour by the International Astronomical Union.

This seminar was recorded for the 2012 Australian Innovation Festival, on Friday 25th May 2012, at Curtin University
